Call for proposals to the Magellan³ Workshop Series Programme now open!

The Magellan³ Workshop Series Programme (MG³) invites scientists from IODP³/ICDP member countries to propose workshops for the development of compelling proposals that address the ambitions of the 2050 Science Framework and/or the ICDP Science Plan 2020-2030.

Magellan³ welcomes proposals for workshops aimed at generating offshore drilling/coring and "Scientific Projects using Ocean Drilling Archives" (SPARCs). Scientific themes must be aligned with the Strategic Objectives defined in the 2050 Science Framework.

Magellan³ workshops are normally expected to take place in IODP³/ICDP member countries, but exceptions can be made when justified. Workshops that combine virtual and face-to-face sessions, in order to both reduce our carbon footprint and allow for wider participation in workshops, can be considered.

Funding is available from the Magellan³ Workshop Series Programme, but this will not exceed €15,000 per workshop. Proponents are encouraged therefore to seek co-funding from other sources.
