Australian Earth Sciences Convention 2026
Feb 3-6, 2026

Overlooking picturesque Albert Park, AESC 2026 will deliver a scientific program across the broad spectrum of Earth Sciences. This will be a pro-active and vision-driven program for the growing global interest in solving humanity’s biggest challenges, such as: transitioning to a renewable and sustainable energy future, grappling with Big Data and AI in geoscience, food/water security, and enhancing intersectional research across sectors (academia, government and industry/commerce), and much more. It will further include emerging and maturing research at the crossroads of Geoscience and other fields, e.g. space research, Archaeological Sciences, Engineering, IT and beyond.
Free ANZIC Pre-Conference Workshop
As part of this event ANZIC (IODP3's Associate member for Australia and New Zealand) will be running a free pre-conference workshop: Shaping the Future of Australia’s Involvement in the Global Scientific Drilling Programs.
In this interactive, half-day event participants will have the chance to collaborate on drilling proposals, explore emerging research priorities, and foster interdisciplinary partnerships. The workshop will also emphasise inclusivity, encouraging contributions from early career researchers (ECRs), students, First Nations scientists, and underrepresented groups to ensure diverse perspectives in shaping the future of scientific drilling. Register now!
There's no cost and you don't have to be attending the AESC to join us. Free lunch included!
