Science in IODP3 is driven by community-generated drilling proposals targeting the vision outlined in the 2050 Science Framework and utilising multiple drilling platforms.
The IODP3 proposal submission and evaluation process is designed to transform exciting science into successful drilling expeditions. The guidelines for scientific ocean drilling proposals are now available, alongside the new guidelines for the IODP3 Scientific Projects using Ocean Drilling Archives (SPARCs) initiative. This initiative supports large-scale research projects that address any aspect of the 2050 Science Framework, particularly encouraging the development of ambitious projects that contribute to the Flagship Initiative defined within the 2050 Science Framework.
