We encourage our scientific community to advance IODP3 science by developing new scientific drilling and SPARC expedition proposals, but also to participate by applying to join:
Applications are assessed by the Programme Member Offices (PMOs).
For expedition participation, PMOs rank candidates and submit nominations to the Expedition Co-Chief Scientists (and the Expedition Project Manager for drilling expeditions) for final selection. Selection is based primarily on scientific excellence, but also considers overall career-stage and gender balances in teams, as well as alignment with national financial contributions to IODP3.
For panel and board membership, PMOs review applications and provide recommendations to the Panel or Board Co-Chairs. Final approval of new members is granted by the IODP3 Executive Board.
Applications are submitted via the IODP3 Gateway system.
