*UPDATE* AUTHORSHIP OF IODP3 PUBLICATIONS
IODP3 expeditions depend on contributions from the whole Science Team to ensure successful outcomes. To recognise this, and to support the career development of the outstanding PhD and early career researchers involved in our expeditions, IODP3 will require all expedition-related outputs to be co-authored by all Expedition Science Team members.
This policy applies to all outputs published both in the open literature and in our Proceedings volumes for a three-year period that begins at the start of the Moratorium Period or SPARC start date (for offshore and SPARC expeditions, respectively).
During this period, lead authors are required to list all Science Team members individually in full as co-authors, except in cases where journal regulations specifically limit the number of authors that may be listed (in which case the form “…and the IODP3 Expedition XXX Scientists” should be used).
