Call for Proposals: Scientific Ocean Drilling and SPARC proposal deadline 31st January 2027!
With the next IODP3 Scientific Ocean Drilling and SPARC proposal deadline coming up in just 3 months, we would like to highlight this exciting opportunity to the IODP3 community, and ask that all proposals are completed and submitted by midnight GMT on 31st January 2027 via the IODP3 Gateway.
The IODP3 Gateway accepts all proposal types - including all forms of Scientific Ocean Drilling proposals, and SPARC proposals. Submission guidelines can be found on our website here. These include step-by-step instructions and screenshots to help you navigate the Gateway system.
Any proposals submitted after the deadline will be reviewed in the next evaluation cycle. Please note - there is only one annual deadline for SPARC proposals, so any SPARC submissions received after 31st January will not be assessed until February 2028!
Our next Land to Sea deadline is 1st July 2027, however Land to Sea proposals are welcomed at any time, ready to be assessed in Summer 2028.
We also welcome potential proponents to fill in our Proposal Expression of Interest form. This allows us to provide the best possible support to you and your team during the submission of your proposal. Please note that completion of this form is not mandatory, does not commit you to submit a proposal, and non-completion does not influence the evaluation of any proposal you do submit in any way.
However, we strongly encourage you to complete this form so that the IODP3 Science Office can provide guidance and advice as you proceed with your proposal idea. Completion takes less than two minutes, so we look forward to hearing from you!
